Top safety tips (Safety tips - social networking and user interactive sites)

This section is designed to help you educate your students and the wider school community, including parents and carers, about the safe and responsible use of social networking sites and user interactive sites.

 

There are two sets of tips for raising awareness of safe and responsible use by children and young people of social networking and user interactive sites:

 

The information is based upon the UK Home Office social networking good practice guidelines. The guidelines were drawn up with input from industry, law enforcement agencies and children’s charities.

The information is intended to provide educators with up-to-date and relevant materials for media literacy education and for awareness or campaign work with the whole-school community.
